So today was the day that I finally got to see if my Short Rod 289 would make any power. I got hooked up through a friend for some dyno time. I made sure the supercharger belt was tight and headed that way. Talk about disappointment. My motor runs really good, sounds good, it just doesn't make power like it should. It is off about 80hp from where it should be. I am guessing the compression ration is way lower than I was thinking. Here is the video of the last and best pull. I made 284hp to the wheels and 324 ft/lbs of torque. I was looking for mid to high 300's based on all the 302 Vortech setups I have seen. Thus ends the short rod 289. I am selling it all and going to put a LS motor in the car. There will be a build thread as soon as some parts sell.
